Jeff Schmit is a Managing Director at Baird’s North Shore office, where he’s been helping high-net-worth individuals and families navigate life’s major financial milestones since joining the firm in 1996. Whether planning for college, retirement, or multi-generational wealth transfer, Jeff’s approach emphasizes thoughtful asset allocation tailored to each client’s goals and risk tolerance. Jeff is a proud member of Baird’s Chairman’s Club, recognized for his outstanding contributions to the firm’s success and his unwavering commitment to client service. A graduate of the University of Wisconsin–Whitewater, Jeff brings both technical expertise and a personal touch to every client relationship.
Beyond his professional work, Jeff is deeply involved in his community. He has served on the board of Ozaukee Family Services since 2000 and contributes to the St. John XXIII School Finance Committee and Endowment Fund. He’s a former co-chair of the school’s Key Event, a past member of the Port Washington Lion’s Club, and a founding member of the American Cancer Society Relay for Life in Port Washington—an initiative that has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for cancer research and survivor support.
In 2016, Jeff was honored with Baird’s Kasten Private Wealth Management Award. The Kasten Award honors Baird associates who not only provide outstanding advice and service to their clients, but those who also serve as role models of the firm’s cultural values.

Jeff lives in Port Washington with his wife, Angel, and their children—Jake, Ella, Julia, and Brady. In his free time, he enjoys running, traveling, and making meaningful memories with his family.
Jeff holds his FINRA Series 7, 63, and 65 licenses, along with Life, Health, and Variable insurance licenses.
